Red Lobster partners with Flavor Flav on new meal offer

Red Lobster announced Monday that it has partnered with hip-hop superstar Flavor Flav, known as the co-founder of Public Enemy and the star of VH1’s influential reality show “Flavor of Love,” for its new Crabfest campaign.

In mid-June, the “Crab Your Way” promo dropped on TikTok featuring Flavor Flav’s signature “Yeah Boyeeeee!” catchphrase before exclaiming, “When the internet said Red Lobster is going away, boy Flavor Flav said not today!”

The newly launched “Flavor Flav’s Faves” meal includes menu items hand picked by the New York native: Maine lobster tail, half-pound snow crab legs, garlic shrimp scampi and a bacon mac and cheese plus a choice of any one side. The limited time offer’s price varies at participating locations.

“As a long-time Red Lobster fan, I’m fired up to bring a little bit of my own flavor to fans with a meal featuring my seafood favorites,” the “911 Is A Joke” rapper, whose real name is William Jonathan Drayton Jr., using his said in a statement. “You gotta get to Red Lobster and give it a try because this signature meal is hype, boy!”

The seafood brand filed for bankruptcy in May after the installment of its second chief executive within a year. Dozens of locations across the United States were shuttered.

In an effort to help bolster buzz for the brand, the 65-year-old rapper — who became a ratings juggernaut and helped revive VH1 in the mid aughts — took to social media to share that he had visited a Red Lobster and “ordered the whole menu.”

“Ya boy said he wuz gonna do everything to help Red Lobster and save the Cheddar Bay Biscuits,,, ordered the whole menu,” the father of eight posted on Instagram last month.

“When you have someone like Flavor Flav who shows their love for a brand by ordering the entire menu, you know there is a lot more fun to be had,” Red Lobster’s Chief Experience Officer Sara Bittorf commented. “Flavor Flav’s passion for Red Lobster is unmatched and we’re excited to bring our guests a flavor experience unlike any other.”
