Following President Joe Biden’s announcement on social media that confirmed he would be dropping out of the 2024 presidential race, Biden has yet to make a public appearance. The mystery of the president’s whereabouts has led many social media users to question whether he signed the letter announcing his intention to withdraw from the race or if he even knew that he was dropping out.

According to The Daily Mail, social media users have questioned whether Biden was aware of Sunday’s announcement since the president has not been seen publicly and did not release any video explaining his decision to step aside and endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for president.

On Monday morning, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) tweeted, “I demand proof of life from Joe Biden today by 5:00pm. He needs to get in front of some camera and discuss if he’s aware that he dropped out. Hiding is completely unacceptable.”

The Post Millennial reported that social media users contrasted the signature on Biden’s letter to other executive orders and documents signed by the 81-year-old president. The outlet also noted that some social media users questioned why the presidential seal was not included in Biden’s letter.

“Look at the B, totally different between the latest version and the previous ones. The Jr. is also left off the most recent ‘signature,'” one user tweeted. “Wikipedia has an odd practice of including signatures, their copy also does not match the letter. So now the question is not just who wrote the letter, but who signed it?”

Another social media user tweeted, “Can anyone find another example of Joe Biden underlining his signature?”

Bill Ackman, a former Democratic donor, released a statement on social media stating, “One would think that a letter to the American people from the president announcing his decision to step aside would not be signed using a digital signature and would be accompanied by a photo op and a scheduled conference in the morning that followed.”

Instead of making a public appearance, Ackman said Biden’s announcement was released on the president’s X account, which he claimed was “run by a staffer.”

Ackman added, “If this were a hostage situation, that letter would not qualify as proof of life.”

The former Democratic donor also shared a post by another social media user who showed comparisons of Biden’s signatures.

“There’s no way,” the social media user wrote alongside a picture of Biden’s signatures. “Biden didn’t even sign the letter.”
