A man accused of sexually assaulting a woman and exposing himself to her inside a library bathroom has been charged, Tennessee police told news outlets.

Kevin Standberry, 35, was arrested on attempted rape and sexual battery charges in connection with the July 1 incident at the Cossitt Library in Memphis, WHBQ reported, citing police.

The woman told officers Standberry followed her into a restroom and began kissing her and fondling her breasts, according to WREG. She managed to break free and went to another area of the library.

A short time later, the woman said she want back to the bathroom for her belongings, WHBQ reported. Standberry was still inside and allegedly exposed himself to her, police said, according to the station.

He’s also accused of grabbing the woman and trying to have sex with her, police told WMC. She got away a second time and ran from the restroom.

A security guard detained Standberry and called police after spotting him leaving the women’s restroom, according to WHBQ.

In response to the incident, Memphis Public Libraries said it plans “to enhance security at all locations.”

“We are grateful for the response of the security officer who detained the suspect and the Memphis Police Department for their quick action,” Director Keenon McCloy told WMC in a statement. “We are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for customers.”

Standberry was jailed on a $100,000 bond, WREG reported.
