Former President Donald Trump has issued a fresh challenge for President Joe Biden to undergo a drug screening test ahead of their first presidential debate in this year’s election.
“DRUG TEST FOR CROOKED JOE BIDEN???? Trump wrote in an all-caps post on his Truth Social platform on Monday, adding, “I WOULD, ALSO, IMMEDIATELY AGREE TO ONE!!!”
The social media jab comes as Trump and his allies have repeatedly questioned Biden’s mental acuity and floated theories that he has to be placed on a cocktail of stimulants and other mind-altering drugs to stay sharp during public appearances, such as when the 2020 and 2024 rivals debate on Thursday.
CNN will host the debate between Trump and Biden. The debate rules call for no live audience, which is a significant change compared with past presidential debates. The candidates will also have their mics muted while the other is speaking, limiting their ability to cut in with jabs or interrupt the other’s train of thought.

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), who served as the White House physician when Biden was vice president and when Trump was president, also challenged Biden to undergo a drug screening test on Monday.
Jackson sent a letter to Biden and the current White House physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, urging a drug test both immediately before and after the debate and saying that it “should include, but not be limited to, performance enhancing drugs.” Jackson also called for the White House to release a list of medications Biden is taking on a daily basis or has taken on an “as needed” basis, as well as any performance enhancing medications he is taking or plans to take prior to the debate.
“If President Biden needs to take performance enhancing drugs in order to participate in this week’s debate, then it is imperative that he and his physician disclose that to the American people,” Jackson wrote.
