A police vehicle reportedly went airborne on Wednesday after a traffic collision in Los Angeles County, California.

According to KTLA 5, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said one of their deputies collided with another vehicle while driving near Newhall Ranch Road and Bouquet Canyon Road at roughly 12:19 p.m. (local time) on Wednesday.

The collision appears to have been captured in dash camera footage from multiple angles.

One video showed cars stopped at a traffic light before a police vehicle came tumbling across an intersection and into a lane divider, narrowly missing several other vehicles waiting at the light.

The first video angle shows witnesses to the accident rushing to the police car after it tumbled to a stop, managing to land with all four tires down.

A second dash camera video, purporting to show the same incident, was shared with the Whats Up Santa Clarita Instagram account on Wednesday. The video shows a police cruiser driving through the intersection before a light-colored SUV appears to pull out in front of it.

KTLA 5 reported the vehicle that collided with the LASD deputy’s vehicle was a gold Lexus SUV being driven by an elderly man. After the two vehicles collided, the police vehicle reportedly tumbled into a silver SUV waiting at the stop light. Debris from the two vehicles also scattered across the intersection, nearly hitting other vehicles there.

“I could hear the sirens and I pulled over,” witness Audry Carias told KTLA 5. “The police car is coming towards me and another car just speeds up and hits it. [The patrol car] just flips and hits two cars in front of me. Thankfully, I didn’t get hit.”

The LASD deputy was reportedly responding to a call about a burglary when the collision occurred.

The police deputy was reportedly transported to a local hospital with minor injuries following the collision and was released later that day.

The driver of the gold Lexus was reportedly uninjured and was picked up from the scene by his family members. It is unclear if he was later hospitalized.

The driver of the silver SUV reportedly sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
