President Joe Biden’s declaration of Easter Sunday as “Transgender Day of Visibility” generated significant backlash from Christians and conservatives on social media over the weekend.

On Friday, Biden issued a proclamation declaring Easter Sunday as 2024’s “Transgender Day of Visibility,” claiming that Sunday would be a day to “honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans.”

The president added, “I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity.”

Biden’s proclamation declaring Easter Sunday as “Transgender Day” came as the White House banned religious “symbols” and “themes” from the annual Easter egg art contest.

The president’s proclamation was met with swift backlash by multiple conservative and Christian leaders.

“Biden is banning religious symbols from Easter celebrations at the White House, while flying the trans flag and declaring Easter Sunday to be ‘Trans Visibility Day,'” Donald Trump Jr. tweeted. “This is the left’s new religion. They want people worshiping the trans flag instead of God. They must be stopped.”

The Daily Wire host Matt Walsh released a statement explaining that while he has “as low an opinion of Biden” as possible, the president’s proclamation was “so outrageously evil” that he had to “check to make sure it was real. “Our ‘catholic’ president has chosen the highest holiday on the Christian calendar to celebrate transgenderism,” Walsh added. “This man is a demon.”

Franklin Graham, a popular Christian evangelist and president of the Samaritan’s Purse, also released a statement rebuking the Biden administration for declaring Easter Sunday as “Transgender Day of Visibility.”

Graham said Biden’s proclamation revealed “how little respect” the president and his administration “have for God.” Graham presented a contrast between the Biden administration and Christians around the world, writing, “On the most significant day of the Christian calendar, when the Church around the world celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ who died and shed His blood for the sins of mankind, the Biden administration uses this opportunity to flaunt sin, to glorify sin, and to celebrate sin.”

Lila Rose, a pro-life activist, encouraged people to “speak out loudly against this evil,” warning that the Biden administration’s efforts to push “the toxic lie that one can be born in the ‘wrong body’ & it’s ‘healthcare’ to mutilate one’s body'” is “destroying a whole generation of kids.”

In another rebuke of the Biden administration, Megan Basham, a Morning Wire reporter, tweeted, “We will not bow to the new gods of your new religion.”
