Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) urged Americans on Monday to take matters into their “own hands” by removing “pro-Hamas mobs” blocking traffic throughout the country.

In a statement on X, formerly Twitter, Cotton wrote, “I encourage people who get stuck behind the pro-Hamas mobs blocking traffic: take matters into your own hands to get them out of the way. It’s time to put an end to this nonsense.”

According to The Daily Wire, Cotton’s call to action came on Monday as pro-Palestinian protesters blocked multiple roads across the United States to protest against Israel’s ongoing war against Hamas terrorists. Despite Israel facing an attack of hundreds of missiles and drones launched by Iran and its allies over the weekend, pro-Palestinian protesters engaged in a “Coordinated Economic Blockade to Free Palestine” protest event throughout the day.

On Monday, Pro-Palestinian protesters created major traffic delays at the O’Hare International Airport in Chicago by blocking the road leading to the first three airport terminals.

The Daily Wire reported that pro-Palestinian protesters also blocked traffic near San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, New York’s Brooklyn Bridge. Other roads that were impacted by pro-Palestinian protesters included Oregon’s Interstate 5, the entrance to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and multiple roads in Philadelphia.

“These pro-Hamas extremists blocking roads across the country are Joe Biden’s base,” Cotton wrote in another social media post. “I feel for those with health emergencies, kids, and places to be who are stuck in traffic because of these criminals.”

According to The Daily Wire, Monday’s protests were coordinated by a left-wing group known as A15 Action. A15 Action’s website called for an economic blockade of multiple cities throughout the world to show “solidarity with Palestine” amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.

“In each city, we will identify and blockade major choke points in the economy, focusing on points of production and circulation with the aim of causing the most economic impact,” A15 Action stated. “There is a sense in the streets in this recent and unprecedented movement for Palestine that escalation has become necessary: there is a need to shift from symbolic actions to those that cause pain to the economy.”
