Black Lives Matter activists staged a protest Wednesday at a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event at the University of Memphis featuring Kyle Rittenhouse. Protesters rushed at Rittenhouse supporters and could be heard chanting, “Kyle is a killer,” “Lock his a-s up,” and “F-ck his a-s up.”

Rittenhouse received nationwide attention after fatally shooting two protesters and injuring a third in self-defense during the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests in Wisconsin. Rittenhouse, who was 17 years old at the time, was charged with first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, two charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, and first-degree reckless homicide. In 2021, a jury determined that Rittenhouse was “not guilty” of any of the charges brought against him.

Andrew Kolvet, a TPUSA spokesperson, released a statement Wednesday explaining that the University of Memphis had “taken unprecedented actions to undermine” the event. Kolvet claimed that the university seized control of the event’s ticketing system and seating arrangements on the day of the Rittenhouse event, which is something the TPUSA spokesman said had “never happened in our many years of campus organizing.”

Kolvet warned, “Most shockingly, we have gathered credible information that school administrators have leaked the new ticketing information to protester groups so they can reserve large numbers of newly issued tickets and sabotage the event.”

A video shared by TPUSA Frontlines shows Black Lives Matter activists engaging in a major protest at the University of Memphis during Wednesday’s conservative event with Rittenhouse. In the video, protesters can be heard repeatedly shouting, “Kyle is a killer.”

A second video shared by TPUSA CEO Charlie Kirk also shows Black Lives Matter protesters chanting, “Lock his a-s up” and “F-ck his a-s up.”

According to The Post Millennial, some of the Black Lives Matter protesters were able to enter the event despite the limited number of seats available. The protesters reportedly attempted to disrupt Rittenhouse’s speech and staged a walk-out of the event, according to Fox 13.

Fox 13 reported that Rittenhouse was scheduled to remain at the event from 7-9 p.m., but his security team reportedly escorted the conservative Second Amendment advocate off the stage just prior to 8 p.m.

Another video shared on social media shows law enforcement officials escorting the event attendees away from protesters after Wednesday’s event, as Black Lives Matter protesters shouted and rushed at them. Reporter Julio Rosas noted, “Police had to prevent the hostile crowd from physically attacking them.”
