Former President Donald Trump recently blasted independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the “most Radical Left Candidate” running in the 2024 presidential election. Weighing in on the independent candidate’s White House bid after Kennedy announced his running mate, Trump said Kennedy is “great for MAGA” and is President Joe Biden’s political opponent, not his.
In a Wednesday post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “RFK Jr. is the most Radical Left Candidate in the race, by far. He’s a big fan of the Green New Scam, and other economy killing disasters. I guess this would mean he is going to be taking votes from Crooked Joe Biden, which would be a great service to America.”
Trump also took aim Wednesday at the independent candidate’s vice presidential running mate. Kennedy announced 38-year-old Nicole Shanahan, a wealthy attorney and entrepreneur, as his running mate during a campaign event on Tuesday in Oakland, California.
The former president claimed that Shanahan, who is the former wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin, is “even more ‘Liberal'” than Kennedy “if that’s possible.

“Kennedy is a Radical Left Democrat, and always will be!!! It’s great for MAGA, but the Communists will make it very hard for him to get on the Ballot,” Trump added. “Expect him, and her, to be indicted any day now, probably for Environmental Fraud! He is Crooked Joe Biden’s Political Opponent, not mine. I love that he is running!”
While Trump said that Kennedy’s presidential campaign is “great for MAGA,” the Democratic National Committee has been quick to criticize Kennedy’s campaign. Following Tuesday’s announcement of Shanahan as Kennedy’s running mate, Matt Corridoni, a Democratic National Committee spokesman, told Fox News that the independent candidate was just “looking for someone who can infuse his campaign with cash as he tries to buy his way onto the ballot to be a spoiler for Donald Trump.”
Fox News reported that Democrats appeared to be panicking during a Tuesday afternoon phone call hosted by the Democratic National Committee over the potential for Kennedy’s campaign to impact the 2024 election.
“We are doing everything in our power to get President Biden and Vice President Harris reelected. It’s critical that we take seriously every possible obstacle to that goal,” Pennsylvania Lt. Governor Austin Davis said. “And let me be clear, that’s exactly what Robert F. Kennedy is in this election. He’s a spoiler.”
