St. Louis County Police arrested a 15-year-old female suspect on Saturday after the 15-year-old allegedly assaulted another teenage girl near Hazelwood East High School in a major fistfight on Friday. The teenage victim is currently in the hospital in “critical condition” after the 15-year-old suspect allegedly slammed the victim’s head into concrete multiple times.
Vera Clay, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis County Police Department, told Fox2Now that police officers were notified of an ongoing fight just north of Hazelwood East High School shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, police discovered a teenage girl with a major head injury. The teenager was transported to a local hospital and was listed in “critical condition.”
According to Fox2Now, St. Louis County Police officers arrested a 15-year-old female on Saturday on assault charges. The outlet reported that the suspect was being held in custody by St. Louis County Family Court.
Following Friday’s incident, Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe tweeted, “This culture of complete disregard for human life is unacceptable, and it does not represent who we are as Missourians. All involved must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. Our prayers are with the victim, Kailee, for a full recovery.”

A viral video of Friday’s major fistfight allegedly shows the two teenagers in a standoff before the 15-year-old suspect threw the victim to the ground. After throwing the victim to the ground, the suspect can be seen launching multiple punches at the victim’s head.
Video from the incident shows the victim attempting to push herself away from her attacker; however, the suspect grabbed the victim, continued punching her, and slammed her head against the concrete multiple times, resulting in the victim sustaining serious injuries.
The “Insiders Hut” X account shared a video of the incident on social media, writing, “A white female student is currently in critical condition due to a severe traumatic brain injury she sustained during a fight with a black female student at Hazelwood East High School in Missouri.”

The Hazelwood School District, which reportedly won the “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leadership Award” in 2022, told Fox2Now, “It is a tragedy anytime children are hurt.”
“Bullying and fighting in the community is an issue for which we all need to take ownership and work towards a resolution for the sake of our children,” the school district added. “The Hazelwood School District offers our sincerest condolences to everyone involved, and will offer additional emotional support from our support and crisis team to those in need.”
