Vice President Kamala Harris recently claimed “there’s no question” she is “ready to serve” as Americans continue to express concerns regarding President Joe Biden’s age and mental capacity to serve.
During an interview with The Wall Street Journal last week, Harris insisted, “I am ready to serve. There’s no question about that.” The vice president claimed that everyone who witnesses her work “walks away fully aware” of her “capacity to lead.”
The vice president’s comments came prior to the release of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report regarding the investigation into Biden’s mishandling of classified documents. Hur described Biden as an “elderly man with a poor memory” and detailed the “significant limitations” of the president’s memory.
Following the release of Hur’s report, an ABC News and Ipsos poll revealed that 86% of Americans believe Biden is too old to serve another four years as president.

An anonymous Republican strategist told The New York Post that Harris’ recent comments suggest that the vice president does not have confidence in Biden’s ability to lead.
“Kamala Harris is saying the quiet part out loud and trying to signal to the Democrat donors and delegates that Joe Biden clearly is not fit for office — and if something were to happen to him, she would be ready to step in,” the Republican strategist said. “The problem with that is that every issue Kamala Harris has touched, she has made worse, whether that’s the border or a host of other issues that she’s tried to take on while being vice president.”
The Republican strategist told The New York Post that Harris is the only politician in the United States who can make Biden “look even semi-competent.” The anonymous strategist added that making Biden look competent is “impossible” since he has “been the most incompetent and mentally unfit president” in American history.
An anonymous Democratic insider told The New York Post that Harris should reevaluate her readiness to serve as president after failing to take action on the border and allowing the southern border crisis to become a major political issue for Biden.
“If the vice president is ‘ready to serve,’ she should start with her current role as border czar,” the anonymous insider said. “The disaster we see at our southern border does not inspire confidence, even among Democrats, in her ‘capacity to lead.'”
