Former President Donald Trump urged “all willing States” Thursday to send National Guard troops to Texas to stop the unprecedented level of illegal immigration at the southern border as Texas Governor Greg Abbott makes a stand against President Joe Biden’s administration.

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump contrasted his administration with the Biden administration, explaining, “When I was President, we had the most secure Border in History. Joe Biden has surrendered our Border, and is aiding and abetting a massive Invasion of millions of Illegal Migrants into the United States.”

The former president accused Biden of “fighting to tie the hands” of Abbott and Texas officials to allow the “invasion” of illegal immigrants to continue “unchecked” rather than taking steps to defend the United States from the “onslaught” of illegal immigration.

Describing the situation at the southern border as a national security, public health, and public safety “catastrophe,” Trump claimed that Texas has “rightly invoked the Invasion Clause of the Constitution.” The former president added that Texas should receive the “full support” of the American people to “repel the Invasion.”

“We encourage all willing States to deploy their guards to Texas to prevent the entry of Illegals, and to remove them back across the Border,” Trump stated. “All Americans should support the commonsense measures by Texas authorities to protect the Safety, Security, and Sovereignty of Texas, and of the American people.”

Announcing his plans to address the southern border crisis if he is elected president in November, Trump emphasized that his administration will immediately “work hand in hand” with Abbott and the governors of other border states to end the “invasion” of illegal immigrants, secure the border, and conduct the “Largest Domestic Deportation Operation in History.”

The former president warned, “Those Biden has let in should not get comfortable because they will be going home.”

Trump’s statements on Truth Social come as a growing number of Republican governors and lawmakers have expressed support for Abbott as he and the Texas National Guard continue to defend the southern border despite the Biden administration ordering the state to allow Border Patrol agents to remove razor wire the state has installed along the border.
