A train carrying diesel fuel partially derailed early Friday in northwest Atlanta, Georgia. The derailment sparked a raging fire, which crews continued to battle into the late morning.

According to First Deputy Chief of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department James McLemore, the train was carrying roughly 2,800 gallons of diesel fuel when it derailed. Officials said at least 1,200 gallons of fuel was burned, 11Alive reported.
Video of the scene was shared on X, formerly Twitter.
McLemore said hazardous runoff made of water and diesel fuel was being cleaned by a CSV mitigation team.
