Old National Bank earned a Military Friendly employer designation that is intended to signify it’s a good place for veterans to work.

The Evansville-based bank, which operates all the former First Midwest bank branches in Northwest Indiana, was recognized by Viqtory, Inc., a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business, as an employer that’s friendly to military personnel and returning veterans.

“Most veterans face many challenges when transitioning to the civilian world,” said Jeff Boudreau, a veteran of the U.S. Marines and co-chairman of ONB’s internal Military Veterans Impact Network. “Groups like our Military Veterans Impact Network help people to better understand those challenges and assist veterans in becoming more engaged by being patient as veterans unpack and embrace their experience, build relationships and become fully present at work.”

Old National Bank, the largest bank headquartered in the Hoosier State, operates a Military Veterans Impact Network that provides veterans with mentoring, resources, education and networking. It pairs vets with members of the bank’s executive leadership team to help them transition and provide them with insights on work and life.

The bank will be featured as a Military Friendly Employer in G.I. Jobs magazine and MilitaryFriendly.com.

More than 1,200 companies took part in Viqtory’s 2024 Military Friendly survey, which based its ratings on criteria like recruitment, retention, turnover, promotion and advancement of veterans. The program aims to highlight employers who are committed to serving the military community in a meaningful way.

“Organizations earning the Military Friendly Employers designation have wholeheartedly invested in comprehensive and impactful initiatives that bring about positive, life-changing results for our valued service members, dedicated military spouses, and esteemed veterans within their ranks,” said Kayla Lopez, Senior Director of Military Partnerships at Military Friendly.
