Many questions are left unanswered when loved ones are sent on military deployments: How long will they be gone? And even more problematic, will you ever see them again?

Their parents, spouses, children, grandparents and friends think of them daily.

Reunions with the deployed are highly anticipated, but when that reunion comes unannounced and is captured on video, there is rarely a dry eye in the house.

In a compilation video showing multiple reunions, one mother is reunited with her son while she is at work. She hadn’t seen him in 11 years.

The amount of time that a loved one can be away from their families varies from several months to several years. Anticipated or surprise reunions will always tug at the heart of Americans.

Millions of these types of videos are on social media and YouTube, and people never get tired of watching them.

Sometimes, the loved one in the reunion is a pet, and no matter how long the separation has been, beloved dogs certainly remember their owners and let them know how happy they are to see them.

Many of these videos go viral, which isn’t too surprising since they capture irreplaceable and magical once-in-a-lifetime moments.

Troops put their lives on the line for all Americans, but many times, they also put their relationships on the line.

The planning to ensure military reunions go off without error can be intense, but is well worth it. It is hard to imagine how these reunions feel to the soldiers and their families.

Thanks to some of the videos, America can climb into the hearts of these folks and get an idea of how special these reunions truly are.
