A new poll released over the weekend shows former President Donald Trump leading President Joe Biden by 10 points in a potential 2024 matchup.

According to the recently released Washington Post-ABC News poll, 52% of Americans would vote for Trump, while 42% would vote for Biden in the 2024 election. The poll also found that 56% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s job performance, while only 37 of Americans approve of Biden, giving Trump a major boost in a potential rematch of the 2020 presidential election.

The Washington Post-ABC News poll showed that about 62% of Democrat voters and Democrat-leaning voters would prefer a different nominee for the party in 2024 than Biden, while 74% of voters indicated that Biden is too old for a second term as president.

Additionally, the poll found that only 30% of Americans approve of Biden’s performance on the U.S. economy, and only 24% of Americans approve of Biden’s performance pertaining to immigration issues at the southern border.

While the latest poll showed Trump with a 10-point lead over the president, The Washington Post suggested that it could be an “outlier” from other polls since other polls have indicated a much closer 2024 presidential race. Following ABC News and The Washington Post’s attempt to downplay the significance of the poll, the former president released a statement on Truth Social.

“To show everyone how FAKE the News Media is, ABC WORLD NEWS on Sunday Morning, their big News Show, covered every aspect of a Poll on Crooked Joe Biden, except for the biggest and most important FACT, that he was losing to a person known as DONALD J. TRUMP by a staggering 10 Points,” Trump wrote. “They spend millions of dollars on these polls, and then, if the result isn’t what they want it to be, refuse to properly report the results. This is what Fake News is all about, and the public has quickly gotten wise to it.”

According to Fox News, the Washington Post-ABC News poll was conducted based on a random sample of 1,006 U.S. adults from September 15-20, with a 3.5% margin of error.

Earlier this month, Fox News released a poll that showed Trump ahead of Biden by 2 points, while a recent Quinnipiac University survey showed Biden leading Trump by 1 point. A poll released by The Wall Street Journal last month and an NBC News poll released Sunday both indicated that Biden and Trump were statistically tied.
