Kelsea Ballerini was blindsided at her latest show, becoming the latest artist to get hit while performing live.
The “Blindsided” singer, 29, on Wednesday had to halt her performance at the Idaho Botanical Garden in Boise after a concertgoer threw an object onstage, a verified fan account for Ballerini tweeted.
The incident, according to the clip posted by @KelseaCentral, appeared to hit Ballerini’s face, causing her to turn away as a member of her band inspected where the object made contact.
“We all want to show Kelsea love the best way we know how, and shower her with all the gifts,” began the account. “But throwing things on stage where artists are already so vulnerable is NOT the move. … There are so many other options.”
The account then implored fans to not “put her in danger like this.”
The call-to-action continued, “Again, I know you all mean well, but this is becoming a safety issue. We love you guys. … But please make it stop.”
The incident comes on the heels of a similar one involving Bebe Rexha during the Brooklyn native’s June 18 show at the Rooftop at Pier 17 in Lower Manhattan. The NYPD told the Daily News that 27-year-old Nicolas Malvagna was charged with felony assault after allegedly throwing a cell phone at the singer, born Bleta Rexha, during the performance, believing “it would be funny,” if she were hit. The ordeal left Rexha with a black eye.
At a Pink concert in London this past weekend, a fan appeared to toss a bag of their mother’s ashes on stage, stunning the “So What” singer.
