The House Oversight Committee announced that the former FBI supervisory agent who led the criminal investigation into Hunter Biden confirmed the recent testimony of Gary Shapley, an IRS supervisory agent, regarding an alleged coverup operation.

The House Oversight Committee tweeted that the committee’s staff held a “transcribed interview” with a former FBI supervisory special agent who worked with the FBI’s Wilmington office on the criminal investigation into Hunter Biden.

“The agent CONFIRMED key portions of the IRS whistleblowers’ testimony, including that both Secret Service headquarters and the Biden transition team were TIPPED OFF about the planned Hunter Biden interview,” the committee tweeted.

According to the New York Post, the committee, which is led by chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), unveiled the evidence Monday ahead of a Wednesday congressional hearing which is expected to feature allegations from IRS supervisory agent Gary Shapley and an unidentified IRS subordinate regarding special treatment of Hunter Biden during the criminal investigation.

The Oversight Committee’s tweet claimed that on the day Hunter Biden was supposed to be interviewed as part of the criminal investigation, “Federal Agents were told to stand by and to not approach Hunter Biden.” The former FBI agent told the Oversight Committee that federal agents were instead directed to wait for Biden’s phone call.

“As a result of the change in plans, IRS and FBI criminal investigators never got to interview Hunter Biden as part of the investigation,” the committee stated.

According to the committee, the former FBI agent told the committee’s investigators that he had never before been instructed to “wait outside” and wait to be contacted by a person under active investigation.

The committee wrote, “The agent’s testimony is sickening and reveals the lengths to which the DOJ is willing to go to cover up for the Bidens.”

The House Oversight Committee’s tweet concluded with a promise that the committee will work with the Judiciary Committee and the Ways and Means Committee to “seek the answers, transparency, and accountability that the American people demand and deserve.”
