Shocking video footage shows a mob of teenagers looting a McDonald’s restaurant in Los Angeles Monday while a peaceful Juneteenth festival was being held in a nearby park.
According to the Daily Mail, Leimert Park is a historically black neighborhood, which hosted a Juneteenth Festival on Monday.
Video footage shows a crowd of teenagers looting the McDonald’s restaurant near Crenshaw Boulevard and West 43rd Street.
The suspects can be seen jumping on the counter and over the counter, removing a cash register, smashing the register on the ground outside the restaurant and stealing the money.
The Daily Mail reported that one teenager threatened an employee with a chair, while multiple suspects threw objects at the staff members and destroyed food displays.
“We are deeply concerned by this recent incident,” McDonald’s Owner Operator Tony Lardas said. “The safety of employees and customers is my top priority, and we’re focused on supporting our restaurant team as we continue to assist local law enforcement in their investigation.”

“It got a little hot for a second and it was a lot of people crowded together and everybody created, you know, some type of animosity,” Teron Liggin, franchise manager, said. He left shortly before the chaos erupted. “That’s unfortunate for sure. I’m also a man of God. So, you know, I try not to fear anything but God. But at the same time, you got to be smart. You got to be cautious.”
According to Newsweek, the motive for the mob of teens looting the McDonald’s restaurant was not “immediately clear.” The incident remains an ongoing investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
