Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter CEO Elon Musk engaged in back and forth posts on social media Tuesday and Wednesday, challenging each other to a “cage match” fight.
According to ABC News, the comments started when Musk addressed a tweet that claimed Meta is preparing to launch “Threads” as a rival to Twitter. In a jab against Zuckerberg on Tuesday, Musk responded to the report, warning about the world falling “exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options.”
After a Twitter user warned Musk that Zuckerberg has been trained in jiu jitsu, Musk said, “I’m up for a cage match if he is lol.”

Zuckerberg responded to Musk’s challenge Wednesday, sharing Musk’s original post on Instagram alongside a warning from a Twitter user suggesting that Musk start training due to Zuckerberg’s jiu jitsu training, captioning the post with, “Send me location.”
According to the New York Post, Zuckerberg recently was awarded gold and silver medals in a Brazilian jiu jitsu competition, which is reported to be his first jiu jitsu tournament. Zuckerberg reportedly first revealed his jiu jitsu training last year, following years of training in martial arts.
In response to Zuckerberg’s acceptance of the “cage match” challenge, Musk tweeted “Vegas Octogon” as the location of the fight. He also tweeted, “I have this great move that I call ‘The Walrus’, where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing.”
ABC News reported that Musk has a history of tweeting about things and not following through, leading many to question whether the “cage match” fight will ever take place. Nevertheless, ABC News reported that DraftKings currently has projected odds of 140+ for Musk and -160 for Zuckerberg if the fight between the two CEOs was to take place.
