Former President Ronald Reagan’s youngest granddaughter, Ashley Reagan, 40, married police officer Joe Dunster in Santa Barbara earlier this month.
Ashley, a Catholic school principal, is the daughter of Michael Reagan, the senior Reagan’s eldest son.
The ceremony was held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and the reception was hosted at the Ronald Reagan Ranch Center.
The choice of reception venue was a personal one, according to People.
“We looked at a ton of beautiful venues, but we wanted a personal connection,” Ashley said.
The ranch, owned by the Young America’s Foundation, displays artifacts from President Reagan’s life and time in service.
Ashley, who has attended Young America’s Foundation West Coast Leadership Conferences with her father, Michael, was supportive of the ranch’s preservation, according to the foundation’s website.
“Preserving the ranch is important to my grandpa, my family, and history. [The ranch] best shows what Ronald Reagan stood for and illustrates his humility to people. The ranch is Ronald Reagan,” Ashley said.
Her father was a frequent speaker at the foundation’s student programs during her youth.

Ashley wore a dress designed by Grace Loves Lace, featuring a sweeping train, lace sleeves and a floor-length veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses, while the groom wore a traditional black tuxedo with a white shirt and tie.
The groom’s best man was his seven-year-old son, Colt. Dunster is also father to Duke and Walker, five-year-old twins. Ashley had two bridesmaids, and her older brother, Cameron, served as a groomsman.
The reception was themed in black, white and Burgundy, and guests dined on locally sourced chicken, fish and barbecue. Included as a nod to her grandmother, former First Lady Nancy Reagan, was chili from Chasen’s in West Hollywood. The meal was reportedly one of her favorites to share with her husband after the pair met at the restaurant years earlier.
Dessert was red velvet cake and an ice cream bar provided by McDonnell’s, followed by wedding guests being treated to a trolley ride to the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront resort for dancing and celebration. Guests were also treated to gift bags of Jelly Belly jelly beans, President Reagan’s favorite treat.
Dunster and Ashley, acquaintances from childhood, began their romance in 2021. Details regarding honeymoon plans have not been publicly released.
