Police are warning of an active shooter situation in Midtown Atlanta that left one victim dead and three others injured Wednesday afternoon, authorities said. The suspect remains at large and should be considered “armed and dangerous.”

WSB-TV reported that dozens of heavily-armed police officers are on the scene of the shooting, which occurred at 1100 West Peachtree Street Northwest.
“Anyone in the area is asked to secure their building and shelter in place,” the Atlanta Police Department tweeted. “Anyone not in the area is asked to stay away. We will communicate via social media and our website with updates.”
The department also tweeted photos of the suspect, who is still at large as of 1:00 p.m. EST.
Three people injured in the shooting were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said.
