Police snipers are on the scene of a Wells Fargo Bank in Arlington, Virginia, where an armed robber had barricaded himself inside with hostages, according to police.

“#BREAKING: Snipers are on the scene of a hostage situation at a Wells Fargo Bank in Arlington, VA Police believe FIVE people are being held hostage, including the bank’s manager,” Nick Sortor tweeted along with video of the scene.
Arlington County Police Department tweeted, “Preliminary information indicates the suspect entered the bank, implied he had a weapon and demanded money. The suspect remains barricaded inside the bank with patrons/employees. Police remain on scene working to resolve the incident.”
The attempted bank robbery comes just one day after an active shooter killed five people and injured six others, including a law enforcement officer, at a downtown Louisville, Kentucky, bank on Monday.
The shooting took place at Old National Bank and video of the scene showed police running to warn people outside the bank while shouting, “Active shooter at the bank!”
“He had a long ‘assault rifle’ and you hear the shots just start firing,” one apparent witness to the shooting said in the immediate aftermath of the attack. “I didn’t see his face. We were in the back conference room.”
“Whoever was next to me got shot. Blood is on me from it,” the witness added, turning to the show blood on his shirt.
