Two cars crashed at the intersection of South Military Trail and Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach shortly before 5:30 a.m. Monday, killing one person and hospitalizing four others.
The person who died was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, said Ted White, a spokesperson for Delray Beach Police. Two of the four injured were taken to a local hospital as trauma alerts.
Officers shut the intersection down for about six hours, White said. What caused the crash was not known Monday afternoon.
Police have not released the identities of the people involved in the crash. Additional details were not available.
