On Thursday, the rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, praised Adolf Hitler and said he “love[s] Nazis” during an appearance on Alex Jones’ “InfoWars” show.
“I don’t like the word evil next to Nazis,” Ye said during one exchange with Jones. “I love Jewish people, but I also love Nazis.”
“Well, I have to disagree with that,” Jones responded, laughing uncomfortably.
Ye wore an all-black mask that covered his entire head for the duration of his appearance.
“You’re not a Nazi. You don’t deserve to be called that and demonized,” Jones said to Ye during another exchange that was posted on Twitter.
“Well, I see good things about Hitler, also,” Ye responded. “I love everyone. Jewish people are not going to tell me, ‘You can love, you know, us. And you can love what we’re doing to you with the contracts. And you can love what we’re pushing with the pornography. But this guy that invented highways, and invented the very microphone that I use as a musician, you can’t say out loud that this person ever did anything good.’ And I’m done with that. I’m done with the classifications. Every human being has something of value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler.”
In another part of the discussion, Jones asserted that the Nazis were “thugs that shook people down and did a lot of really bad things.” Ye immediately responded, “But they did good things, too. We gotta stop dissing the Nazis all the time.”
In another exchange, as Jones denounced Nazis, Ye interjected, “I like Hitler.”
Also during his appearance, Ye bizarrely referenced Israeli Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu and used a falsetto voice while pretending to be the Israeli leader.
“I was tired of picking up the Yahoo and the ‘netan,’ so for now, he’s just ‘netan.’ I know some people call him ‘Bibi,’ I know some people call him Yahoo, but we’re going to call him ‘Netan,'” Ye said before pulling out a net.
“What you want, Netan?” Ye asked the net in his hand, which he pretended was Netanyahu.
Ye then responded to himself with a falsetto voice, pretending to speak as Netanyahu, “‘Hey Ye, why don’t you do this. I’m going to say you’re crazy and take your family away from you. We’re not done with you yet. You can not cause free thought. We have to control the history books. We have to control the banks. And we have to go and kill people.”
