Amid an ongoing legal battle over child support, the mother of one of Hunter Biden’s children has asked that the child’s last name be changed to Biden.
President Joe Biden’s son Hunter had sexual relations with a former exotic dancer named Lunden Roberts, who gave birth to a daughter, named Navy Roberts, in August of 2018. Hunter Biden initially denied fathering a child with Roberts, claiming he had “no recollection” of ever meeting her.
According to the New York Post, Roberts worked at a Washington D.C. strip club Hunter frequented around the same time he was dating his deceased brother’s widow, Hallie Biden. A DNA paternity test conducted as part of a child support petition later established “with scientific certainty” that Hunter Biden was the father of Roberts’ child, according to an Arkansas court document.
Hunter Biden has since gone on to pay support for the child he fathered with Roberts, but Roberts says neither he nor Joe Biden have ever met Navy. Recently Hunter Biden filed a court petition to have his child support payments lowered.
In a response to Hunter Biden’s bid to lower his child support payments, Roberts’ lawyer, Clinton Lancaster, asked the court to reject Hunter’s request due to his “history of attempting to avoid discovery by filing endless and recurrent motions for protective orders.” In documents obtained by the Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette, Lancaster filed a motion on Roberts’ behalf, requesting that Navy be allowed to take the Biden last name.
“To the extent this [estrangement] is misconduct or neglect, it can be rectified by changing her last name to Biden so that she may undeniably be known to the world as the child of the defendant and member of the prestigious Biden family,” Lancaster wrote in the legal motion.
Hunter Biden has overseen several lucrative business ventures in recent years. He has also had some notable financial success as a painter. Hunter Biden sold five paintings for $75,000 each last year, the New York Post reported. Biden’s art dealer, George Bergès, recently told the Daily Beast that his paintings are now selling for up to $225,000.
