A person attempting to illegally cross the border was killed after Southern Military Zone personnel detected an illegal border crossing attempt and implemented the rules of engagement on Wednesday, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Personnel arrested 10 people attempting to infiltrate a neighboring country, according to a military source, who added that one group member was injured. Those arrested have been referred to the relevant authorities, the source added.
The source reiterated that the army will apply “full force” to thwart any illegal crossing or smuggling attempts to protect the Kingdom’s borders, citizens and national security.
