On Friday, businesses across the United States are offering discounts and special deals to United States military troops in honor of the 103rd observance of Veterans Day.
Here are some deals to watch out for:
Denny’s
Denny’s is offering free Grand Slams for all military personnel on Veterans Day. The offer applies to all active, non-active and retired military personnel and is valid for dine-in only at participating locations from 5 a.m. to noon* with a valid military ID or DD 214.
“At Denny’s, we’re thankful each and every day for the courageous military personnel who have sacrificed so much for this country,” Denny’s President John Dillon told American Military News in a statement. “We’re honored to continue shining a light on the veteran community and providing heroes with great food to thank them for protecting the nation we call home.”
Krispy Kreme
Krispy Kreme is honoring and celebrating Veterans Day by offering veterans a free doughnut of choice and a small brewed coffee (hot or iced).
Great Clips
To show their “continued support and appreciation for veteran and active military service members,” Great Clips salons nationwide are offering free haircuts for troops on Veterans Day.
On Friday, veterans and active service members can visit any Great Clips location in the U.S. and get a free haircut or a free haircut card for a future visit.
“On behalf of Great Clips, Inc., our franchisees and their stylists, we’re honored to extend this offer to military service members as our way of saying thank you for all they do to protect and serve our country,” Steve Hockett, CEO of Great Clips, Inc., said in a statement to American Military News. “We also invite all customers to visit their local Great Clips salon for a haircut on Veterans Day so they can provide a free haircut card to veterans and active service members in their lives as a way to pay it forward.”
Applebee’s
Applebee’s is offering veterans and active duty military a free meal on Veterans Day at participating Applebee’s locations only. The offer also applies to dine-in only.
According to a press release, both veterans and active duty service members can choose a free meal from an exclusive menu featuring:

Troops who visit Applebee’s on Veterans Day will also receive $5 towards their next meal.
“Our entire Applebee’s family looks forward to this day year after year. It is truly an honor to be able to give back to and recognize those who have served and continue to serve our country,” John Cywinski, Applebee’s President, said in a statement .“We welcome our heroes to join us for a free and delicious full-size entrée at Applebee’s on Veterans Day as our way of saying thanks.”
Dunkin Donuts
On Veterans Day, Dunkin’ is offering retired and active military personnel a free donut of their choice at participating Dunkin’ restaurants nationwide.
“This free sweet treat and all of Dunkin’s Veterans Day initiatives are part of the brand’s continued commitment to supporting the United States Armed Forces,” Dunkin’s website states.
Olive Garden
Olive Garden is offering veterans and active duty service members a free entrée from a special Veterans Day menu. The meals include: never-ending soup, salad and breadsticks, cheese ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, fettuccini alfredo and chicken parmigiana, according to USA Today.
Kohl’s
Kohl’s is offering 30 percent off in-store purchases for veterans, active troops and their families from Friday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 13, according to the company’s website. A valid military ID is required to participate.
Texas Roadhouse
Texas Roadhouse is offering veterans and active-duty military personnel a free meal voucher in honor of Veterans Day.
Between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, November 11, Texas Roadhouse is giving troops meal vouchers that are valid through May 30, 2023. Proof of service is required. No purchase necessary, according to USA Today.
Cracker Barrel
Veterans and active duty troops will receive a free slice of double chocolate fudge Coca-Cola cake with any purchase in-store and online at Cracker Barrel, USA Today reported.
To take advantage of this deal online, guests must include a cake in their order and enter code “VETSDAY22” at checkout.
Red Lobster
On November 11, Red Lobster is offering troops free Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, fries and coleslaw in honor of Veterans Day. A valid ID is required and the offer is valid for dine-in and to go between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Smoothie King
In recognition of Veterans Day, Smoothie King is providing active and retired military personnel a free 20-ounce smoothie. Valid ID required.
