Labor Day is approaching and most of us have already made plans on how to spend the long weekend.
However, with Labor Day itself being on a Monday, the biggest question is who is open and closed after many of us have already celebrated the day(s) before?
Here is what we know so far.
Is the Labor Day a federal holiday?
Yes, Labor Day is considered a federal holiday, so most office and government buildings will be closed on Monday.
The New York Stock Exchange will also be observing the holiday.
Is the post office open on Labor Day 2022?
Because the post office is considered a federal entity, the United States Postal Service will not be open and operating on Monday.
Mail is also not expected to be delivered on the holiday.
Are banks open on Labor Day 2022?
Most major banks will be observing Labor Day on Monday and will remain closed for the day. Be sure to check out the list here.
If you bank with a local credit union, it most likely expected to observe the holiday, however, it doesn’t hurt to reach out and be sure if necessary.
What major retailers are open Labor Day?
Most big box stores, fast food chains and big name grocery stores such as Walmart are expected to be open on the Labor Day.
