Former President Donald Trump slammed President Joe Biden as “insane” and “awkward and angry” Thursday night after Biden’s aggressive speech, during which Biden attacked millions of Republicans as “MAGA forces” and “extremists.” MAGA is the acronym for the Trump slogan “Make America Great Again.”

In a post on Trump’s social media platform Truth Social, the former president suggested that Biden’s “awkward and angry” speech that “threatened America” demonstrates that Biden “should not be representing the United States of America.”

“Someone should explain to Joe Biden, slowly but passionately, that MAGA means, as powerfully as mere words can get, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! If he doesn’t want to Make America Great Again, which through words, action, and thought, he doesn’t, then he certainly should not be representing the United States of America!” Trump posted

“If you look at the words and meaning of the awkward and angry Biden speech tonight, he threatened America, including with the possible use of military force,” Trump added in a separate post. “He must be insane, or suffering from late stage dementia!”

During Biden’s nationally televised prime-time speech, the president was deliberately positioned in front of uniformed Marines, with ominous red background lighting, as he painted his political foes as “MAGA forces.”

Biden declared Donald Trump – his expected 2024 political rival – and “MAGA Republicans” as “an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic.” The appearance of uniformed service members at a politically charged event is rare and typically criticized as politicization of the military.

“MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards,” Biden said. “Backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love.”

“They promote authoritarian leaders and they fan the flames of political violence,” he continued. “They’re a threat to our personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the very soul of this country.”
