Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, has agreed to a “voluntary interview” with the U.S. House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 storming of the U.S. Capitol.

“I can confirm that Ginni Thomas has agreed to participate in a voluntary interview with the Committee,” Thomas’ attorney, Mark Paoletta, told Fox News in a statement. “As she has said from the outset, Mrs. Thomas is eager to answer the Committee’s questions to clear up any misconceptions about her work relating to the 2020 election. She looks forward to that opportunity.”

In June, committee chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) said the committee would “invite” Ginni Thomas for an interview “at some point.”

Around the same time, CNBC reported that the committee had obtained emails between Thomas and Trump lawyer John Eastman.

Thomas subsequently told the Daily Caller that she is looking forward to clearing up “misconceptions” related to Jan. 6, 2021.

“I can’t wait to clear up misconceptions. I look forward to talking to them,” Thomas said, indicating that she would agree to testify before the committee.

While it is unclear exactly what is in the emails, the New York Times reported earlier this year that Thomas sent numerous texts to Trump White House officials allegedly pushing for the 2020 election to be overturned.

In one of the texts reportedly sent just days after the election, Thomas pressed Mark Meadows, Trump’s chief of staff, to “release the Kraken and save us from the left taking America down.”

“I can’t see Americans swallowing the obvious fraud. Just going with one more thing with no frickin consequences,” she said in a separate message, adding, “We just cave to people wanting Biden to be anointed? Many of us can’t continue the GOP charade.”
