After the Texas National Guard secured a gate on private property along the U.S.-Mexico border, President Joe Biden’s Border Patrol was caught on camera this week unlocking and opening the gate, allowing a large group of illegal immigrants to move deeper into the U.S.

BREAKING: New military woke discrimination against white men revealed says new report

Bill Melugin, Fox News national correspondent, tweeted video of the moment Border Patrol agents unlocked the gate and let the illegal immigrants through on Wednesday.

“This was the moment Border Patrol arrived with the key and let the migrants in. The landowner allows both TX DPS/National Guard and Border Patrol to work here. The gate has always been left open in the past. TX is now closing it, & migrants have to wait for BP to be let in,” Melugin wrote.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott responded to the video on Twitter, writing that the Biden administration is “enabling illegal immigration” and causing a border “crisis.”

“Unbelievable. While Texas secures the border, the federal government is enabling illegal immigration,” Abbott tweeted. “Biden’s open border policies caused this crisis. The federal government must do its job & fix it.”

According to Melugin — who has covered the border crisis extensively — Border Patrol agents letting illegal immigrants walk through previously locked gates is “not new.”

“They have to process migrants on U.S. soil per federal law,” Melugin explained. “What’s new is TX is now closing the gate & denying entry at this major crossing location. Always open in months past, including this video I shot in May.”

Newly released data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection showed that 1,946,780 illegal immigrants have been apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border so far this fiscal year, already shattering last year’s record-breaking total.

With two months still to go in FY22, the number of illegal immigrants encountered at the southwest border is expected to break 2 million. The previous record was set during Joe Biden’s first year as president, reaching 1,734,686.

“There were 458,088 illegal immigrant encounters during the final year of former President Donald Trump’s presidency, and 977,509 in 2019.

Dangerous drugs and people on the terrorist watchlist are also pouring over the border this year, Gov. Abbott warned on Twitter.

“66 people on the terrorist watchlist have been arrested at the border this fiscal year. Fentanyl seizures increased 202% in July. Texas continues to step up to combat the influx of crime & deadly drugs crossing our border,” Abbott tweeted. “Biden must end this crisis.”

The Biden administration stopped prosecuting most illegal border crossings in 2021, despite the U.S. Customs and Border Protection arresting a record number of illegal immigrants at the U.S.-Mexico border, according to a Department of Homeland Security memo obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Of the 1,734,686 illegal immigrants apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border last year, just 2,896 were assigned to U.S. Marshals Service for federal prosecution.
