A person is in custody after Fort Bliss officials responded to a bomb threat at the Cassidy Gate in Central El Paso.

A person drove a vehicle about 3:45 a.m. Friday to the Fort Bliss Cassidy Gate near Cassidy Road and the Patriot Freeway in Central El Paso, post officials said.

The Directorate of Emergency Services responded to a possible bomb threat when a person not affiliated with the military approached the Cassidy Gate, officials said.

A U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Detachment responded to the scene. No explosives on the person or in the vehicle were found, officials said.

The person in the vehicle was taken into custody.

No further information has been released as Fort Bliss officials continue investigating the incident.

Officials said there is no active threat to the post.
