Former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) blasted President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice for the FBI’s use of counterterrorism tools to target concerned parents at school board meetings and called for Attorney General Merrick Garland to “resign or be fired.”

“The FBI tracked concerned parents using counterterrorism measures in the Patriot Act. Such abuse of power is why I’ve long advocated to get rid of the Patriot Act. AG Garland & anyone involved should resign or be fired,” Gabbard tweeted. “This politicization of the DOJ will destroy our democracy.”

The message came one day before Gabbard warned “the establishment” will “try to destroy” anyone who is against it.

“This really comes down to the reality that the American people are facing some incredibly serious challenges and really what we need right now are competent and caring leaders who put the interests of the people above all else,” Gabbard said.

“But that’s not what we have. This is a bigger problem than Democrats or Republicans. This is about the establishment elite trying to hold onto their power and continue to increase it. And the mainstream media is a powerful arm of that establishment elite,” she continued. “And it comes down to this: you’re either with them, agreeing with them, supporting them, carrying the water for them, or you’re not.  You’re either part of their team or you’re not.”

“And if you’re not – and this is what we’re seeing happening now, it’s what I’ve experienced – then they will target you, censor you, demonize you and call you a domestic terrorist and sic the attorney general on you. [They see] you as a threat to their power and therefore the enemy,” Gabbard concluded.

In another act of defiance against the so-called “establishment elites,” Gabbard tweeted in support of Kyle Rittenhouse, the Wisconsin teen who was acquitted of all charges after killing two rioters and injuring a third in acts of self-defense during riots in Kenosha last year.

“The jury got it right—finding Rittenhouse not guilty on all charges. The fact that charges were brought before any serious investigation is evidence that the government was motivated by politics, which itself should be considered criminal,” Gabbard tweeted.

Early last week, Gabbard again condemned the media and politicians for labeling Rittenhouse a “white supremacist terrorist.”

“With no evidence, MSM & antifa-loving politicians immediately labeled Rittenhouse a white supremacist terrorist,” she wrote. “It’s obvious now that he was just a foolish kid who felt he needed to protect people & the community from rioters & arsonists because the government failed to do so.”
