Former President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that “Dumbass” Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley should be “tried for TREASON” if the reports are true that Milley promised to warn China of an impending attack by the United States.
“If the story of ‘Dumbass’ General Mark Milley, the same failed leader who engineered the worst withdrawal from a country, Afghanistan, in U.S. history, leaving behind many dead and wounded soldiers, many American citizens, and $85 Billion worth of the newest and most sophisticated Military equipment in the world, and our Country’s reputation, is true, then I assume he would be tried for TREASON in that he would have been dealing with his Chinese counterpart behind the President’s back and telling China that he would be giving them notification ‘of an attack.’ Can’t do that!” Trump wrote in a statement provided to American Military News.
Trump went on to say the “good news is that the story is Fake News” created by “weak and ineffective” Gen. Milley and “two authors who I refused to give an interview to because they write fiction, not fact.” Trump’s comments refer to journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, who revealed Milley’s words in their new book entitled “Peril,” which is reportedly based on more than 200 interviews with witnesses involved in the Trump administration.
After calling the story “fake news,” Trump said immediate action should still be taken against Milley “so that another Afghanistan disaster never happens again.” Late last month, President Joe Biden, under the advisement of top military leaders like Milley, executed a chaotic evacuation from Afghanistan that resulted in the deaths of 13 U.S. troops and thousands of Americans being left behind enemy lines. Trump added that he “took out 100% of the ISIS Caliphate” which Milley said “couldn’t be done.”
Trump then reiterated that the “Peril” story was made up, writing that he “never even thought of attacking China – and China knows that.”
“The people that fabricated the story are sick and demented, and the people who print it are just as bad,” Trump wrote. “In fact, I’m the only President in decades who didn’t get the U.S. into a war—a well known fact that is seldom reported.”
According to Woodward and Costa, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Milley promised China’s General Li of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) that he would warn the communist nation if the United States was going to attack.
“General Li, I want to assure you that the American government is stable and everything is going to be okay,” Milley reportedly told the PLA general. “We are not going to attack or conduct any kinetic operations against you.”
“General Li, you and I have known each other for now five years. If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time,” Milley added. “It’s not going to be a surprise.”
