Albert Dyrlund, a YouTuber from Denmark, was filming a video in the Italian Alps when he fell to his death on Wednesday, Danish and Italian outlets reported.

Italian outlet, Rai News reported Dyrlund was recording a video on his cellphone on Mount Seceda in Val Gardena, Italy, when he fell more than 600 feet.

A rescue helicopter was sent but could not save him in time, Rai reported.

Dyrlund’s family confirmed his death to various local outlets. His mother, Vibe Jørger Jensen asked for privacy during this grieving period, Rai News reported.

Maria Andersen, Dyrlund’s girlfriend, told Ekstra Bladet she was told of his death on Thursday and is “devastated.” The pair met in 2020 and said they were best friends.

“We had plans together. This was just the beginning of a beautiful future that was torn apart from him and me in a heartbeat,” Anderson wrote on Instagram. “I hope he hears me when I close my eyes every night and tell him that I love him and that I am always by his side.”

Dyrlund was known to share music videos and comedy sketches on YouTube and Instagram. He had over 200,000 followers on each platform. He produced songs such as “Emoji”, “Ula” and “Summer” most recently.

Dyrlund’s fans have posted their condolences and memories of the YouTuber on Twitter.

“I’m completely out of it. I am ready to cry and empty of words. I can not understand it. I will forever remember all our memories,” said fellow Danish YouTuber Rasmus Brohave.
