A Marine Corps veteran who fathered a child while stationed in the Philippines met his daughter for the first time over the Fourth of July weekend, thanks to a DNA test, WHNT reports.
Thomas Williams, 81, had been wondering about his daughter and searching for more than 50 years.
His daughter, Tylin Rosser, 62, grew up not knowing the father who raised her had not been her biological father. Her mother confessed the truth before she died.
Rosser, who lives in Ohio, took a DNA test from Ancestry.com and discovered she had American-born siblings – Williams’ other children.
That led to the connection with Williams in Decatur on Independence Day.
“I think about you all the time,” Williams said when he met Rosser. “I always did.”
“I’m here,” she said.
“God answers prayers,” Williams said.
