The Denver Police Department arrested three men and one woman Friday night on charges of illegal weapons possession at the Maven Hotel near Coors Field, the site of Tuesday’s Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

Richard Platt, 42, Gabriel Rodriguez, 48, and Ricardo Rodriguez, 44, were arrested on the investigation of possession of a weapon by a previous offender, the police department announced.

Platt and Gabriel Rodriguez also were booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Kanoelehua Serikawa, 43, was arrested on investigation of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

“The investigation and arrests were the result of a tip from the public, serving as an excellent example of the critical role the community plays in public safety,” the Denver Police Department said in a statement. “DPD encourages residents and visitors to always be aware of their surroundings and to report suspicious or illegal activity to police immediately.”

ABC7 reported that police recovered 16 long guns, body armor and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition from a hotel room.

Police obtained search warrants for two rooms and two vehicles were impounded, police said. Police say the investigation is active and ongoing.

Coors Field will host the All-Star Game for the second time and first since 1998. The festivities begin Sunday with MLB’s All-Star Futures Game.
