Chris Pratt is ready for a futuristic fight in the new trailer for “The Tomorrow War.”
Pratt stars in the upcoming action flick as a military veteran who’s recruited by time travelers to join a battle in 2051 in hopes of saving mankind — and the future.
“I was trying to save my daughter,” Pratt’s character, Dan Forester, says in the trailer. “If I’ve got to save the world to save her, then I’m going to do it.”
The action-packed, two-and-a-half minute trailer introduces a future in which humans have just weeks to live if they can’t win the war against non-human adversaries. The trailer ends by offering a quick glimpse of one of the enemies.
“Sometimes, a man does what’s best for his family,” Slade, a character played by J.K. Simmons, says in the trailer. “Not himself.”
Directed by Chris McKay, the movie arrives on Amazon Prime Video on July 2.
Starring alongside Pratt and Simmons in “The Tomorrow War” are Yvonne Strahovski and Betty Gilpin.
