Google paid tribute to Memorial Day with its latest Google Doodle.
On Monday, the search giant updated its homepage to feature a gray Doodle and an American flag. When you click on the flag or the Google logo, it takes you to search results for Memorial Day. How Google looks on your computer or device can vary based on settings.
The federal holiday commemorates military personnel who died in service. It also is considered the unofficial start to summer and is a popular day for a barbecue and holiday sales.
For over a decade, Google has periodically transposed its search page logo with new artistic renderings and games, dubbed “doodles,” to mark historical events and anniversaries on Google.com.
This is not the first time Google has grayed out its logo. It did something similar for Memorial Day 2019, according to a Google blog post.
It also changed its logo in December 2018 for the National Day of Mourning to honor former President George H. W. Bush, CBS reported.
