A terrifying scene unfolded at a Formula One race in Bahrain on Sunday when the car driven by Romain Grosjean zoomed into a barrier and ignited a massive fire.
Grosjean managed to escape his vehicle as the blaze raged on the track at the Bahrain International Circuit.
His vehicle crashed into the barrier during the Bahrain Grand Prix after hitting the car driven by Daniil Kvyat, CNN reported.
“He’s doing okay, he had light burns on hands and ankles,” Guenther Steiner, the principal of the Haas Formula One Team, told Sky Sports of Grosjean.
“Obviously shaken and going through all checks necessary after an impact like this. He’s conscious.”
