President-elect Joe Biden suffered small fractures in his foot after twisting his ankle while playing with his dog over the weekend.
Biden on Saturday apparently slipped while playing with his dog Major, and twisted his ankle.
An orthopedist at Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists examined Biden on Sunday afternoon. Initially, the doctor said Biden sustained a sprained right foot and that initial X-rays showed “no obvious fracture.”
However, after the X-rays, Biden went to Delaware Imaging Network for a CT scan.
“Follow-up CT scan confirmed hairline (small) fractures of President-elect Biden’s lateral and intermediate cuneiform bones, which are in the mid-foot,” Dr. Kevin O’Connor said in a statement.
“It is anticipated that he will likely require a walking boot for several weeks,” O’Connor added.
Before the CT scan, Biden was seen walking in with a limp. After the CT scan, the president-elect appeared to whistle and flash a thumbs up.
