During a series of mega naval drills, the Indian Navy demonstrated it’s missile firing capability from its missile corvette INS Prabal by hitting a target at peak accuracy in the Arabian Sea. Indian Navy’s lead corvette ship fired a Kh-35 Anti-ship missile targeting a retired vessel with precision, destroying it with a single hit. The drill demonstrated the Indian Navy’s one-shot-one-kill ability in subsurface warfare.

To assess combat and operational readiness within the active vessels, India’s naval forces in the western command fleet had a series of subsurface warship exercises in its strategic water routes. The drill included the Western fleet’s flagship aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya, lead destroyer Kolkata class ship, other combat vessels, and naval helicopters.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh Thursday took note and reviewed the operational preparedness of the Navy, monitoring the drill while aboard INS Vikramaditya carrier. In his remarks, he mentioned maintaining “peak combat-readiness” and “high tempo” of operations over the past few months, they said.he also complimented and hailed ever prepared force of Navy which are considered as dominant blue water navy in Indian ocean region.

“Indian Navy continues to maintain a high tempo of operations and combat-readiness despite the Covid-19 pandemic by adhering to stringent protocols onboard warships, submarines, and aircraft squadrons and bases, and is fully prepared to tackle challenges in the maritime domain,” the Navy said in a statement.

“Admiral Singh also complimented the Carrier Battle Group and its combatants for accurate and effective weapon firings, which left no doubt about the Navy’s readiness to meet any emergent contingencies,” the Navy statement also said.

With the increasing threats from two-front China and Pakistan, India is enhancing its combat preparedness at maximum level by testing various missiles and conducting operational drills of its weapons and war assets with military modernizations.
