Navy identifies sailor who died in Naval Station Norfolk forklift accident

The sailor who died Friday morning in an accident at Naval Station Norfolk was identified Saturday.

Chief Petty Officer Adam M. Foti was was stuck by a forklift on Pier 14. He was assigned to the destroyer USS Jason Dunham.

The accident happened about 11 a.m. He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:34 a.m.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service is investigating the accident.
