Indian Army has set up barbed-wire obstacles at points to foil any intrusion attempts by Chinese soldiers at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) bordering eastern Ladakh.
The barbed wire obstacles have been put up as Chinese troops have tried to come a few meters away from their position at the LAC.
The Chinese soldiers are armed with medieval-type weapons and have been making several attempts to take over Indian held positions.
India has strongly condemned these attempts being made by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) troops and have warned that India would retaliate if Chinese army continues to make these attempts of overtaking Indian held positions.
India’s strong and clear message of retaliation has been given to the Chinese military representatives when both, India and China’s representatives met on Wednesday to decide on de-escalating the tension at the LAC in eastern Ladakh. However, this meeting remained ‘inconclusive’, and further talks will continue.
PLA troops had tried to force out Indian soldiers from their position on 7 September by firing gunshots in the air, to which Indian Army had made it clear that it would also respond in a similar manner in the meeting.
India has found out that the Chinese Army has increased the deployment of its troops and is also bringing in more material and logistics items from 8 September onwards at the finger area north of Pangong Tso lake.
“They are within clear visible range and Indian troops are keeping a close watch on the activities of the Chinese,” IANS quoted its source as saying.
The incursion attempts by the Chinese troops is due to crucial heights in areas around the southern bank of Pangong lake by the Indian Army. A crucial height Rechin La, which is currently being manned by Indian troops is which China is protesting against.
The height, Rechin La, gives the Indian Army an advantage point for China’s military base on the southern bank of the Pangong and also is in the range of Finger 4 area.
