The U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command has increased its reward to $25,000 for information related to the death of a Fort Bragg paratrooper, officials said.
The reward is being offered for information that leads to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of 21-year-old Spc. Enrique Roman-Martinez of Chino, California.
Roman-Martinez’s partial remains were found near Cape Lookout National Seashore after he was reported missing near his campsite on May 23. He was identified by dental records.
Officials said his phone and wallet were found at the campsite.
“No more information will be released at this time to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation,” officials said in a news release.
Roman-Martinez joined the Army in September 2016. He was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg in March 2017 after completing airborne school at Fort Benning, Georgia.
His awards and decorations include the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon and the Army Parachutist Badge.
