Shelby Police made an arrest Tuesday morning in the shooting death of Christopher Carson.

Jalen Aric Lipscomb, 23, of Shelby, is accused of killing Carson.

Carson was found shot at least twice at a home on the 400 block of Rocky Brook Drive on Friday. Since then, detectives tried to piece together what may have led to the death of the U.S. Army veteran, said Capt. Steve Seate with Shelby Police.

The 32-year-old was found dead at the Rocky Brook Drive home after a 911 call was made by a person at the house, according to investigators.

Detectives believe Carson and Lipscomb got into an argument just minutes before the call came through. Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the argument between the two acquaintances.

A friend and fellow veteran, Quavas Hart, set-up a gofundme page in honor of Carson and to help raise money to help support the man’s son in the coming years.

The gofundme challenges the veterans community to donate $50 each to help the family.

Lipscomb faces a charge of felony murder and is in Cleveland County jail on no bond. He will make his first appearance in Cleveland County District Court on Wednesday.

Police are unsure of how many people were at the home when the shooting took place and are still seeking information in the case.

Detectives ask anyone with information to call 704-484-6845 or Cleveland County Crime Stoppers at 704-481-8477.
