A concealed carry permit holder fatally shot a woman after she reportedly began firing on customers at a north Tulsa, Okla. shopping center on Friday.

Tulsa Police responded to a shooting incident outside a shopping center on the 5300 block of North Peoria Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Friday, Tulsa World reported. The still-unidentified woman was found dead at the scene.

A man with a concealed carry permit revealed himself to arriving officers and said he shot the woman after she opened fire on customers outside the shopping center.

The woman in question had reportedly gotten into an altercation earlier on in the shopping center parking lot with a group of shoppers. She was said to have left the shopping center and returned about three minutes later with a gun and began firing. According to Law Enforcement Today, the woman opened fire from inside her black SUV. That was when the man with the concealed carry permit then returned fire.

Police found the woman was found dead inside the SUV.

“I don’t know that there is going to be an arrest made in this particular case at this point,” Detective Jason White said. We are still going to go down and we are going to talk to him and figure out what his version is.”

White indicated the existence of a surveillance video that corroborates reports of the woman getting into an altercation prior to the shooting.

“Once we get the video and we are able to look at that video, I think it’s going to give us a really good idea of what happened here,” White said.

The concealed carry permit holder was reportedly questioned and then released by the police department’s detective division.
