Two more service members at Nellis Air Force Base have tested positive for the coronavirus, bringing the facility’s total of cases to six, officials announced Saturday.
The six members have been treated in isolation from the time they began showing symptoms, and will remain separated as is recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
Military officials have not disclosed their medical condition. The six cases were announced in the last three days, with five of the positive results coming in the last 48 hours, officials said.
As of Friday, there were 126 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Clark County since the first one in Nevada was identified here on March 5. The virus has claimed the lives of two Clark County residents.
The base “continues to work closely with our federal, state, and local health officials to ensure our detection and response efforts are coordinated,” officials wrote in a news release. “(The base’s) leadership is constantly monitoring the situation and will provide additional information as it becomes available.”
