A fight broke out on Sunday between two attendees at a Bernie Sanders presidential rally after an argument over a shirt that said “Black Guns Matter.”

The incident occurred at the Sanders’ rally in Colorado. The incident occurred in full view of the media risers and CBS Denver captured much of the fight before other rally attendees intervened.

The events that led up to the fight were partly captured on video by a phone in the audience.

A Twitter user posted video which starts off by panning over the crowd, gathered to hear Sanders speak. A commotion behind the camera operator appeared to catch their attention and they turned around to see an argument unfolding between the two attendees.

“What are you talking about, you’re f*cking retarded bro,” the man in the Black Guns Matter shirt said to another attendee. “Black guns matter equates to racism?”

“Yes that’s what you’re equating to, you’re equating black guns to black people, black lives,” a man dressed in a blue denim jacket said in response. “I hope those guns are as important to you as other people’s lives.”

By their appearances, the two men arguing look to be the ones seen in the fight video.

The Black Guns Matter shirt appears to be a play on the slogan, “Black Lives Matter,” which popularized around concerns of police brutality against the black community.

“What do you know about black lives bro?” said the man in the Black Guns Matter shirt, who was of notably darker complexion than the other man who was white.

“Why are you getting so angry,” the man in the denim jacket said. “It’s because you know I’m right. You know I’m right. Are you not equating guns to lives.”

The argument becomes difficult to hear over Sanders’ rally speech but the man in the denim jacket could be heard calling the shirt racist one more time before the fight broke out with shoving.
